Consistency in basketball is important, and there are few
skills in the game that lend themselves to consistency as much as simply
playing hard. And yes, playing hard is a
skill. It’s a skill that 2015 John Trey
Pride has.

Available and Deserving
With the high school season coming down to an end and the
spring signing period just around the corner in April, I thought I’d put out a list
of seniors from the VA and NC areas who are still up for grabs and have
abilities that college coaches desire.
Whether it’s at a division one, division two, or division three level,
here are ten guys who deserve a shot to play college basketball.

Coaches for the Cure Classic Gives Richmond Glimpse of State’s Top Talent
Benedictine High School was the site for the 2013 Coaches
for the Cure Classic this past Saturday.
Those who were willing to leave their homes on this cold afternoon were
treated to a slate of high level games, highlighted by one of the top freshmen
in the country. A big thanks should be
given out to Team Loaded for putting on a high quality event. Here are your standouts.
Update
Here is a brief update on where I stand and where this blog is headed.
I recently decided to leave Future150 to accept a job as a full time high school basketball scout with Eric Wallace and his scouting service based out of Florida. Eric runs a service that currently focuses on three states: Florida, Georgia, and Ohio. You can visit his site at FloridaHoops.com.
The Florida service is simply called the Florida Hoops Report, and his overarching service currently has over 300 college subscribers.
He wants to expand the service to other parts of the country, so I will be scouting primarily the Virginia and DC areas and some in North Carolina. The specific Virginia site and service will be launched upon my graduation from Wake Forest University in May.
Come spring time next year, we will also be holding various player showcases in the Virginia and DC areas.
I want to give a big thanks to Future150 and all they did to help me out. I really enjoyed my time there, but I am also very excited about this new opportunity. I am really looking forward to officially get started in May.
As for this blog, I will continue posting on it when I can, particularly until my job gets going after graduation.
Thanks and stay tuned!

Phenom 150 Camp Showcases Region's Young Talent
Sunday at the Phenom 150 Camp in Winston-Salem, NC
represented an opportunity for many of the region’s young players to make names
for themselves. Kids from primarily
North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia all showed up looking to compete
against high quality competition and improve their games. They did both and while many of these players
have yet to even play a high school game, they showed that they are more than
ready. Plenty of kids deserved recognition
for their play, but here are a few that really stood out.

Recruiting Headlines: Jefferson, Barber, Nunn, Kingsley, Black, and Williams make their Choices
It’s been a busy week on the recruiting front. We had seen a dry spell in terms of
commitments for a while now, but that trend completely reversed itself starting
last Thursday. Multiple big name players
made pledges to coaches and universities throughout the past few days. Here are a few of them and what they mean.

Standouts from Saturday at the Elite 75
Ashbrook High School was the site for the 2012 Elite 75
camp on Saturday, and the event attracted a large group of talented players to
its campus in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Some big names were in attendance and they did nothing to disappoint,
but plenty of other players were also able to step up and grab some of the
attention. Here are your standouts.
